This little series of paintings is related to the Golden Twenties in Berlin, the golden era, a short five year time period within the 1920th after the hyperinflation and World War I.

Avant-garde art was flourishing and experimental and creative efforts where made in all fields of art. This is why expressionism became a major force in artistic expression. 

My goal is to recreate the ambience between jazz music, swing dance at the edge of World War II (Tanz auf dem Vulkan), the political debates, general skepticism in the future, lust for life, women empowerment etc. which characterises this incredibly thriving time period this little series aims to highlight.
